The average cost of male horses currently stands at ₮2.6 million (approximately $730.34), as reported by MiddleAsianNews.
According to data released by the National Statistical Office on January 12, prices for horses in December 2025 increased by ₮1.7 million compared to the same period last year, indicating a steady rise in livestock prices.
Over the past year, there has also been an increase in prices in other segments of animal husbandry. For example, the price of five-year-old stallions (соёолон азрага) reached ₮1.3 million (approximately $365.17), four-year-old bulls increased to ₮1.9 million (approximately $533.71), and rams now cost ₮300,000 (approximately $84.27). The price for male goats has risen to ₮210,000 (approximately $58.99) compared to last year.
Significant price differences are also observed by region. In December 2025, the highest price level for males was recorded in the Sukhbaatar aimag at ₮2.6 million (approximately $730.34), while in the Bayan-Ölgii aimag it was ₮1.35 million (approximately $379.21).
Additionally, prices for related goods have also increased. In December 2025, the average price for cowhide longer than two meters was ₮16,900 (approximately $4.75), which is ₮7,000 (approximately $1.97) more than last year. The price per kilogram of white cashmere reached ₮113,000 (approximately $31.74).
