Trump signed the charter of the "Council of Peace"
At the World Economic Forum in Davos, Trump delivered an opening speech in which he emphasized: “World peace is our common ideal, and it will be a significant contribution to history.” He noted that each attendee is a “star” of this event.
The President of the United States added that after the full formalization of the Council, they will be able to act within the framework of international cooperation, including interaction with the UN.
The signing ceremony included delegates from various countries, including Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Argentina, Paraguay, and others. Among those present were also Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, as well as the leaders of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Shavkat Mirziyoyev. CNN notes that on stage with Trump were representatives from fewer than 20 countries, among which were not the traditional Western European allies of the United States.
After Trump finished his speech, White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt confirmed that the Council for Peace now has the status of an official international organization. Then, one by one, the leaders of the countries approached the president to sign the document.
