The ChatGPT neural network, developed by OpenAI, has demonstrated impressive results on the unified entrance exam for Japanese universities, scoring the maximum points in nine out of 15 subjects. The overall accuracy of the answers was 97%, while in 2023 this figure was 91%, and in 2024 it was only 66%, reports Kyodo News, citing the company LifePromt, which conducted the testing.

Among the subjects where ChatGPT achieved the highest results were chemistry, fundamentals of biology and physics, mathematics, political science, and economics. Its lowest success was on the Japanese language exam, where it scored 90% correct answers.

Satoshi Endo, head of LifePromt, noted: "Artificial intelligence has improved its computational and reading skills, allowing it to achieve the highest score in mathematics. However, the results of the Japanese language test show that it is still unable to fully systematize information in this language."

According to data from the preparatory school Kawaijuku Group, a score of 89% on the exams provides a 50% chance of admission to the first year of humanities this year.
