During the meeting between Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov and Ulaanbaatar Mayor Nymbaatar Khishgee, held at the Tashkent administration, key areas of joint socio-economic development were discussed. As part of his visit, Nymbaatar also familiarized himself with the capabilities of the Situational Center of the Tashkent administration, where modern digital technologies for monitoring urban processes, ensuring public safety, and responding to emergencies were demonstrated to him.
Following the negotiations, both sides expressed their readiness to expand interregional cooperation, actively exchange experiences, and implement joint projects aimed at sustainable development of the capitals and improving the quality of life for their residents.
Uzbekistan and Mongolia continue to deepen their strategic partnership, transitioning from ordinary diplomatic relations, which have existed since 1992, to more active cooperation in economic, transport, and cultural spheres. Important steps in this direction have included high-level visits and agreements in areas such as mining, agriculture, and logistics, including the introduction of a visa-free regime. Key aspects of interaction involve strengthening political ties, opening the Mongolian embassy in Tashkent, and developing transport infrastructure.
According to the latest data, bilateral trade between the countries has significantly increased, exceeding a 10.5-fold growth from 2019 to 2024, rising from $1.9 million to $20.4 million, which indicates growing economic integration between Uzbekistan and Mongolia.
