In published messages, Macron expresses bewilderment regarding Trump's actions concerning Greenland. "From President Macron to President Trump. My friend, we share similar views on Syria. Great things await us regarding Iran. I do not understand what exactly you have in mind regarding Greenland," one of the records quotes the French leader.

Additionally, Macron proposed that Trump meet in Paris on January 22, after the forum in Davos, to discuss issues in a broader context, suggesting the participation of representatives from Ukraine, Denmark, Syria, and Russia.

He also invited Trump to dinner in Paris before his return to the U.S.

As reported by DW, the Élysée Palace confirmed the authenticity of these messages.

It was previously announced that an emergency summit of EU heads of state and government will take place in Brussels on January 22, where the situation surrounding Greenland and a possible response to Trump's threat of imposing 10% tariffs will be discussed.
