President of the United States Donald Trump expressed dissatisfaction with Emmanuel Macron, the President of France, threatening to impose tariffs of 200% on French wines and champagne. This statement was made after it became known that Macron might refuse to participate in the "World Council" on Gaza.

Trump, commenting on the situation, stated: "He is not needed by anyone, as he will soon leave his position... I will impose 200% tariffs on his wines and champagne, and then he will agree," as reported by Bloomberg. Macron's term ends next year, and he has already announced his intention not to participate in the next elections.

Trump announced the creation of the "World Council" on January 16, the same day its composition was presented. It includes such figures as U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Special Envoy Steve Witkoff, the President's son-in-law Jared Kushner, and former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. According to the charter of the new council, its primary task will be to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip, after which attention will shift to other global conflict situations.
