The company OpenAI has announced the start of testing advertisements in its ChatGPT application. This innovation will affect users of the free version, as well as subscribers of the Go plan. Users who have chosen paid plans such as Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise will not see advertisements, according to Kazinform, citing information from OpenAI.

According to the company's statements, the introduction of advertising will help reduce a number of limitations for users who do not wish to pay for a subscription. At the same time, the ChatGPT Go plan will be available in all countries where the service operates. For $8 a month, users will be able to receive increased limits on messages, image creation, file handling, and the chatbot's memory functionality.

Testing will begin in the USA, after which it is planned to expand to other countries. Advertisements will only be visible to authorized users over the age of 18. They will be placed at the bottom of ChatGPT responses and will correspond to the topic of the query, while being visually separated from the main text.

OpenAI assures that advertising will not affect the quality of the neural network's responses. All correspondence will remain confidential, and advertisers will not have access to it. Users will be able to customize personalization settings, hide individual ads, or completely disable advertising by switching to a paid plan.

During the testing phase, advertisements will not be shown to minors and will also be excluded from the context of sensitive topics such as health, mental state, and politics.
