The Chinese airline Spring Airlines, based in Shanghai and one of the largest carriers in the country, plans to start operating direct flights on the Shanghai–Ulaanbaatar–Shanghai route from 2026.
Spring Airlines (春秋航空) is a Chinese low-cost airline headquartered in Shanghai (China), operating regular passenger transportation on domestic and international routes.
The main hub of the company is Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, with Shanghai Pudong International Airport serving as a second key hub.
The airline held a meeting with Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dashnyam Ganzorig to discuss preparations for the launch of new flights and opportunities for cooperation. It is expected that the new routes will lead to an increase in tourist flow from China and other countries to Mongolia.
Spring Airlines was founded on May 26, 2004, as a subsidiary of the tourism holding "Shanghai Spring International Travel Service." The first Airbus A320 aircraft, previously used by Lotus Air, was received by the company on July 12, 2005, and it began its operational activities on July 18, 2005, with its first scheduled flight between Shanghai and Yantai. The airline's logo features a stylized image of a triple spiral.
As of today, Spring Airlines operates flights to 50 destinations in 12 countries and has a fleet of 134 aircraft. Additionally, the company provides tour operator services, making it a significant player in the tourism market.
