During an investigation conducted by elDiario.es and Univision Noticias, two women who previously worked for Julio Iglesias made a series of serious allegations against him regarding sexual harassment and violence. Both women shared their experiences in interviews published in these outlets about events that took place in 2021, reports Forbes.ru.
Laura and Rebecca (names changed) detailed their negative experiences while working at Iglesias' residences. They shared that they were subjected not only to verbal aggression but also to humiliation, harassment, and sexualized violence, which they reported in comments to elDiario.es and Univision Noticias as part of the investigation.
Laura claims that in 2021, Iglesias kissed her and touched her breasts without her consent, causing her pain. Rebecca, in turn, reported that the singer, who was 77 years old at the time, regularly summoned her to his room after work for sexual encounters without her consent. "Every night I felt like an object, a slave," she said.
The preparation for this investigation took three years, after which lawyers from the organization Women’s Link Worldwide filed a complaint with the National Court of Spain.
“We hope that our appeal to the court will be a signal for all victims of Julio Iglesias to also speak out and believe in justice. This has not only happened to us; he has been doing this for many years,” Laura noted.
