As of January 2026, Mongolia welcomed 21,066 tourists. This indicates the stability of the tourist flow in the first month of the year and signifies a growth in winter tourism. The largest group among the tourists were citizens of Russia, followed by tourists from China, South Korea, Germany, Japan, and Kazakhstan.
The summer season of 2025 was a peak point for tourism; however, by the beginning of 2026, the number of tourists exceeded 20,000. This confirms the success of initiatives aimed at developing winter tourism. Winter festivals, cultural events, and unique natural excursions play a key role in promoting Mongolia as a year-round tourist destination.
