Russia spent a record amount on Brazilian beef
According to RIA Novosti, in 2022, Russia increased its import of frozen beef from Brazil to a record $472.8 million, the highest figure since 2015.
Analyzing Brazil's export data, the agency noted that the country has been increasing its meat supply to the Russian market for four consecutive years. Compared to the previous year, beef imports rose by 80%, setting a new record for the last decade; in 2015, the volume was $546 million.
Overall, Brazil increased its frozen beef export supplies by 43% last year, reaching $14.4 billion. Russia and Mexico together ranked third among the largest importers, each holding a share of 3%. China (61%) and the USA (8%) remain the most active buyers of this product from Brazil.
