In Russia, Chery Tiggo owners are mass complaining about door lock issues in freezing temperatures

According to information published by Russian media, the problem may be related to the electronic actuator of the lock. Condensate accumulates inside the mechanism, which freezes at low temperatures, leading to malfunctions in the operation of the handle and the lock actuator. This issue is most commonly observed with the driver's door.

In some cases, car owners can open the door using the duplicate button of the central locking system or the window lifter, if the electronics are still functioning. However, in severe frost, the systems may completely shut down, leaving drivers with no choice but to wait for the car to thaw in a warm place.

If the locking issue occurs frequently, specialists recommend replacing the central lock.
