Saikhanjargal Otgonbayar won silver at the Ice Climbing World Cup
More than 120 athletes from 18 countries participated in these competitions. Mongolia was represented by eight athletes, including international masters Selenge Nyamdoo, Kherlen Nyamdoo, Saikhanjargal Otgonjargal, and Mandakhbayar Chuluunbaatar, as well as sports masters Zorigtbaatar Azjargal, Otgonhuu D., Dolgoon E., and Amina Janbota.
In the speed discipline, Saikhanjargal achieved an excellent time of 19.90 seconds, earning him a silver medal and marking the first award for Mongolia in this season of the World Cup. Other athletes from Mongolia achieved the following results: Otgonhuu placed 6th, Kherlen 15th, Zorigtbaatar 17th, and Dolgoon 32nd. Among the women, Selenge finished in 4th place, while Amina ended up in 11th position. Mandakhbayar was unable to complete the competition due to a technical error.
In the long-distance events, Selenge placed 36th among women, while Mandakhbayar also finished in 36th position among men, which concluded the first performance of the Mongolian team at the World Cup.
