As reported by NotebookCheck, the company's specialists link the incident to a hacker known by the nickname Solonik. The data was put up for sale on January 7, 2026, on the BreachForums, which opened access to it for other malicious actors.
Instagram continues to be one of the leading social platforms, with about 2 billion active users monthly and over 500 million daily users.
The article also mentions other serious incidents in the field of cybersecurity. According to Spotify, their platform has over 100 million tracks, around 7 million podcasts, and about 350 thousand audiobooks, with a total number of users exceeding 700 million.
