In Switzerland, the owner of a bar where 40 people died was arrested

Jacques and Jessica Moretti
As a result of the tragedy that occurred on New Year's Eve, 40 people lost their lives. The arrest of Moretti followed a lengthy interrogation, during which his wife and co-owner of the establishment, Jessica, was also questioned.
According to the publication, the detention of the bar owner indicates a shift in the position of the investigative authorities: on January 4, a police press release stated that there were no grounds for his arrest, and no coercive measures had been applied.

Jacques and Jessica Moretti are suspected of involuntary manslaughter, as well as causing bodily harm and negligent arson, related to the fire that claimed the lives of 40 people, reports 24 heures.

The investigation suggests that the fire started because bartenders ignited fireworks, which led to the ignition of soundproofing foam on the ceiling. The flames engulfed the premises in less than a minute, resulting in 116 people being injured.
