Storm in Turkey Turns Over Trucks, Boats, and Lighthouses

A powerful storm is raging over a significant part of Turkey.

According to local news agencies, numerous incidents have been reported, including the destruction of buildings and vehicles. Hurricane-force winds tore off roofs, toppled trees, and swept away boats. Due to poor weather conditions, planes were unable to land, and trucks were overturned. Debris from collapsed roofs blocked important transportation arteries. In several regions, there are power outages.

In Bursa, a 22-year-old young man died under the rubble of a collapsed wall. In Kocaeli, classes in educational institutions have been suspended, while beaches, historical buildings, and minarets in Istanbul, Balıkesir, and Manisa have been damaged.

On the coast of Kireçburnu in the Sarıyer district, a 10-meter lighthouse was blown down by the wind and fell into the sea.

Ferry and maritime services have been canceled.

For several provinces, including Istanbul and Ankara, the meteorological service has issued a "yellow" level danger warning. A sharp drop in temperature is expected in the coming days.
