Traffic Management in Ulaanbaatar Using Artificial Intelligence
Since the beginning of the new year, thanks to these cameras, about 4000 fines have been issued to drivers within the first four days. Some drivers mistakenly perceive the status "under review" as a notification of a fine being imposed, as noted by representatives of the authorities.
If any individuals or legal entities disagree with the imposed fine, they can file a complaint with the district court of first instance within five working days after receiving it.
To find out which judge will handle the case, as well as to obtain contact information for the judge's assistant, one can visit the website https://scp-court.mn/ and look up their name.
Ch. Khuyzayaa, head of the Traffic Management Center (TMC), emphasized that the full-scale transition to a system using artificial intelligence will not lead to an increase in the number of fines. He explained: "This is a stage of complete integration of technologies into the traffic regulation system."
Drivers express dissatisfaction regarding fines that, according to them, were issued for failing to yield to emergency services, such as ambulances or fire trucks. However, the Ulaanbaatar Municipal Corporation (TMC) refuted these claims, stating that all fines are issued only after thorough investigation.
In Ulaanbaatar, over 2600 new cameras have been installed at 176 intersections and exits, allowing traffic to be monitored using artificial intelligence capable of detecting 10 types of violations.
