Ulaanbaatar to Build and Modernize 85.8 km of Roads in 2026
In total, the work will cover 85.8 kilometers of roads and infrastructure. Additionally, the project plans to construct two pedestrian bridges and install street lighting along 31 kilometers of roads in two locations.
In accordance with the program for the maintenance and improvement of roads, the following activities are planned:
- Maintenance and repair of main and auxiliary roads, including the installation of road signs and traffic control devices;
- Road marking;
- Creation of colored pavement for dedicated public transport lanes;
- Ensuring an accessible environment for people with disabilities;
- Increasing road safety near educational institutions;
- Construction of drainage systems;
- Repair and expansion of manholes.
This year, it is also planned to begin construction of the Tull Highway, which will be six lanes and 32 kilometers long. The contract with the contractor was signed in 2025, and nearly 80 percent of the preparatory work has already been completed. Out of 112 plots of land required for the project, 10 have already been cleared.
The Tull Highway is a strategically important project aimed at expanding Ulaanbaatar's road network, reducing traffic congestion, and simplifying transit traffic through the central areas of the city.
