The competition will take place today, March 27, in Tashkent (Uzbekistan) as part of the PWL 11 tournament.
"Tashkent is one of my favorite cities. The cuisine here is incredible, especially the plov," the athlete noted.
He also added that Kusaka is a person with a kind heart and integrity. "Not only as an Olympic champion in wrestling, but also in life, he demonstrates the qualities of a true champion. Great victories are achieved by people who behave with dignity both in and out of sports. Nao is a very pleasant and kind person," Makhmudov said.
Regarding their upcoming match, Akjol expressed interest in how he will look on the mat. "I will be curious to see myself from the side and understand what stage I am at. I hope we will demonstrate excellent wrestling," he added at the press conference before the tournament.
The match will take place in the weight category up to 77 kg.
Up to this point, Makhmudov and Kusaka have faced each other twice, and their personal encounters ended in a draw — 1:1.
