Mike Tyson Disappointed in Young Boxers
Mike Tyson, the legendary boxer and holder of the title of undisputed world champion, expressed his doubts about the current state of boxing. In his opinion, modern athletes compete too infrequently, leaving no significant mark in the history of the sport.
In his comments, Tyson noted that current boxers should ask themselves how he, at nearly 60 years old, is still able to set records. "They should be disappointed in themselves. They step into the ring once or twice a year, and no one knows about them. Every athlete should have their own story," the portal Bloody Elbow quoted him as saying.
According to Tyson, in modern boxing, not only victory or titles matter, but also constant activity, stability, and the creation of a memorable story. He believes that only those boxers who compete regularly and demonstrate consistency can leave a significant mark in the sport and inspire future generations.
Throughout his career, Tyson achieved 50 victories and suffered seven defeats, with two of his fights being declared no contests. He also won the youth Olympic Games twice.
