
The Committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, responsible for science, education, innovation, information technology, culture, sports, and affairs, approved at the first reading the draft law "On Amendments to the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic on Physical Culture and Sports." The initiator of this draft law was the Cabinet of Ministers.
Urmatt Asanbaev, the director of the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports, emphasized that the goal of the draft law is to create the necessary conditions for people engaged in adaptive sports, including those with hearing impairments.
An important aspect of the project is the inclusion of norms regulating the interaction between republican federations and authorized state bodies, as well as issues related to the accounting of athletes' work experience. Asanbaev also noted that the adoption of new rules regarding spectator safety at sporting events would improve order and safety during all sports events in Kyrgyzstan.
During the discussion, Deputy Rustambek uulu Sovetbek emphasized the need to create equal conditions for all sports federations and raised issues concerning the development of volleyball.
Gulsharkan Kultaeva, a deputy, noted that the draft law includes deaflympic sports and expressed suggestions for introducing norms regarding senior and personal coaches.
Bolot Sagynayev called for more active support for school sports leagues in volleyball and other sports, and also raised questions about preparations for the World Nomad Games, including discussions about the mascot for these games.
Seidbek Atambaev suggested considering mechanisms for rewarding athletes and requirements for sports federations.
Saltanat Amanova supported the proposed changes and clarified the percentage of amendments made to the existing law, as well as raised questions about supporting the salbuurun federation in the context of the World Nomad Games.
Chairperson Toktobubu Ashymbaeva added that funding mechanisms are needed to prepare athletes for international competitions, including Olympic, Paralympic, and deaflympic sports.
