Despite recent airstrikes by the United States and rising tensions in the region, FIFA remains confident that the Iranian national team will compete in the 2026 World Cup.
The Iranian team will play two group stage matches in Los Angeles and one in Seattle. Earlier, representatives of the Iranian Football Federation expressed concerns about the team's participation in the tournament; however, FIFA confirmed that it is closely monitoring the situation and working with the host countries to ensure the safety of both players and fans.
FIFA Secretary General Matthias Grafström emphasized that the organization is making every effort to ensure that teams can travel safely and participate in the tournament matches.
