A running enthusiast from Kyrgyzstan, Jyrgal Toktoshev, has completed his fourth marathon major.

On March 1, he ran the marathon in Tokyo (Japan), covering a distance of 42 kilometers and 195 meters, and set a new personal record — 2 hours, 53 minutes, and 32 seconds.

In 2025, two other runners from Kyrgyzstan — Aibek Jalalov and Bakhtiyar Ganiev — will also participate in Tokyo.

Now, Toktoshev has completed four of the seven marathon majors. Last year, he successfully ran the majors held in Berlin (Germany), New York, and Chicago (USA).

To receive the special six-star medal, the "six-star," he needs to run the marathons in Boston (USA) and London (UK).

Starting in 2025, Sydney (Australia) has been added to the list of marathon majors, participation in which will provide the opportunity to earn a seven-star medal.

According to information on the Abbott World Marathon Majors website, only one person from Kyrgyzstan has the "canonical six-star," including marathons in Tokyo, Boston, London, Berlin, Chicago, and New York.
