In April of this year, Bishkek will host the Youth Asian Cup, featuring teams of players no older than 18 years.
Six national teams will participate in the tournament — from Kyrgyzstan, India, Iran, Macau, Malaysia, and Mongolia.
The last edition of the tournament took place in 2024 in Tashkent and Samarkand, where the Uzbek hockey players won, defeating the Thai national team with a score of 2:1 in the final.
For the Kyrgyzstan team (U-18), this will be their first experience participating in such a tournament.
In January of this year, Bishkek hosted the World Championship for (U-20) teams in the third division, where the Kyrgyzstan national team took first place and advanced to the next division.
