Norway breaks record for the number of gold medals at the Olympics
At the 2026 Winter Olympics held in Italy, Norway achieved a new record by winning 17 gold medals. This success was secured thanks to the victory of biathlete Johannes Dale in the mass start over a distance of 15 kilometers, which became a decisive moment for the team.

Thus, Norway improved its own record, previously set at the 2022 Winter Games in Beijing, where they won 16 gold medals, which was the best result in history at that time.

In addition to biathlon, Norwegian athletes achieved success in various disciplines, including cross-country skiing, freestyle, Nordic combined, ski jumping, and speed skating.

At the current Olympic Games, the Norwegian team has already won 36 medals of various denominations.
