Winter Olympics. Japanese figure skaters set a new world record for points
At the 2026 Olympic Games, the Japanese figure skating pair Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara won gold medals in pairs skating, setting a new world record in the free program with an outstanding score of 158.13 points.

This pair surpassed the previous achievement of Russian figure skaters Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Galliamov, who had held the record with a score of 157.46 points since 2022.
It is worth noting that Miura and Kihara have already been twice Olympic vice-champions in team competitions, as well as two-time winners and silver medalists of the World Championships.
The total score achieved by the Japanese duo was 231.24.
