Aibek Shamenov awarded Batken athletes for their high achievements

In the Batken region, a meeting took place where Aibek Shamenov, the authorized representative of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, awarded outstanding female athletes. Among the awardees was Zarina Asanova, a student of BatGU and a member of the Kyzyl-Kiy City Children and Youth Sports School.

Additionally, Shamenov met with her coach, Zhenishbek Toktonazarov, who is also the mentor of Begaim Akbalaeva – a member of the Kyrgyzstan national team in alysh kurash and a resident of the village of Birlik in the Kadamjai district.

The head of the region congratulated the athletes on their achievements and thanked them for honorably representing the country and glorifying the Batken region. While presenting the awards, he noted that the successes of these athletes serve as an inspiration for the youth, encouraging them to engage in sports and lead a healthy lifestyle.

Zarina Asanova is a five-time champion of Kyrgyzstan. Last year, she successfully defended her country's honor on the international stage, taking 3rd place at the World Boxing Cup in Montenegro in the weight category up to 70 kg. At the Asian Championship in Colombo (Sri Lanka), she won a silver medal, and at a tournament in Thailand, she secured 3rd place. She also won gold at the Kyrgyzstan Championship.

Another talented athlete from the Batken region is Begaim Akbalaeva. She took first place at the republican "Manas" games in 2025 among girls in Kyrgyz wrestling and also won the KR championship in classic wrestling in the weight category up to 60 kg. Currently, Begaim is participating in competitions abroad, and her prize was handed over to her coach.
