Manchester United fan becomes a symbol of the team's disgrace

Frank Aylett, a devoted fan of "Manchester United," has gained notoriety for his unusual promise not to visit a barber until the team wins five matches in a row—a feat the club has yet to achieve.

He last got a haircut in October 2024, and since then, 493 days have passed. This challenge began during Erik ten Hag's coaching tenure and continues even after several managerial changes—Michael Carrick has already become the fifth coach during this period.

Recently, Aylett organized a live stream of a Premier League match against "West Ham," which ended in a 1:1 draw. The live broadcast attracted around 120,000 viewers: the fan enthusiastically celebrated a scored goal but was disappointed by a disallowed goal, which only prolonged his wait for a winning streak.

This unusual challenge has made Aylett an internet celebrity: his Instagram account has gained 1.4 million followers, and he is now receiving offers for advertising contracts. His afro has become a symbol of the club's unstable performance.

Carrick confirmed that he is aware of the challenge but noted that it does not affect the team's performance. It is also worth mentioning an incident at Old Trafford, where another fan grabbed Aylett's hair—this offender was later banned from attending the stadium.

Since "Manchester United" has been eliminated from all cup competitions, the team's next opportunity to achieve five consecutive wins—and thus for Aylett to get a haircut—may only arise in March.
