Imana Kleif is preparing for the 2028 Olympics after hormone therapy

Imana Kleif, a boxer from Algeria, stated that before the Paris Olympics, she managed to reduce her testosterone levels to zero under the supervision of medical professionals. She confirmed that she is ready to undergo all necessary tests to participate in the 2028 Olympics.

In an interview with French journalists, Kleif emphasized that she is not transgender: "I am a girl, I was raised as a girl. My entire village has always known me as such."

The 26-year-old athlete provided her medical documents and hormone test results to the international boxing organization World Boxing. She also promised to undergo all checks necessary for successful participation in the upcoming Olympic Games.

At the 2028 Olympics, a new weight category in women's boxing is planned to be introduced, which should level the playing field with men's competitions. Kleif, who won gold in the under 66 kg category in Paris, intends to compete in the under 70 kg category. "My height is 1.80 m, and my team and I are studying how to best adapt to the new conditions," she added.

The Olympic Games in Los Angeles will begin on July 14, 2028, and Kleif is considered one of the main favorites to win in women's boxing.
