The press service of the World Taekwondo Federation announced that Russian athletes can now participate in international tournaments using their country's flag and anthem.

In an official statement, it was noted that both junior and adult athletes from Russia and Belarus will be allowed to compete with national symbols.

However, tournaments under the federation's auspices will still not be held on the territory of Russia, and accreditation will not be granted to state officials from either country.

It should be noted that since 2022, Russian athletes have been suspended from international competitions.

In October, the International Sambo Federation allowed athletes from Russia and Belarus to compete under their flags and with anthems at youth and junior events. Earlier, the Executive Committee of the International Judo Federation (IJF) decided to restore the right of Russian athletes to participate in tournaments under their national flag and with their anthem.

Additionally, the Congress of European Gymnastics (EG) decided to restore access for Russian athletes to competitions under its jurisdiction.

In December, the International Olympic Committee allowed the lifting of restrictions on the participation of Russia and Belarus in youth competitions.
