Sezim Jumabekova started learning tricks on a galloping horse at the age of 26, and at 28, she mastered horseback archery.
Sezim was born in Bishkek, but her ancestors come from the At-Bashinsky district in the Naryn region. She currently lives in the village of Archaly, located in the Chui region, and works as a guide-translator. She received her education at the Cyprus International University, majoring in "tourism and hotel management."
“I have been practicing archery on horseback for less than a year. During my training, there were funny situations, for example, I tore my clothes while mastering new tricks. I teach tourists and participate in competitions, training with men, as there is no gender division in this sport. I grew up in the city and often faced mockery for being a 'balcony girl,' but that didn't stop me — I continue to ride and shoot arrows,” Sezim shared.
Horseback archery became her passion three years ago, and this decision was entirely conscious: no one forced her to do it, and she has had an interest in horses since childhood.
“In winter, I teach people how to ski. In my free time, I prefer to relax and sleep,” she added.
Sezim is not married and lives with her mother.
“I hope to achieve great success in horseback archery in the future,” she concluded.
In Sezim's family, she is the eldest of three children and has two younger brothers.
