"Liverpool" announced the signing of 17-year-old defender Ifeanyi Ndukwe
The club "Liverpool" has confirmed the signing of a contract with Ifeanyi Ndukwe, a young defender who is 17 years old and is of interest due to his Nigerian and Russian roots. He will start playing for the U21 team this summer season.
The agreement with the player will be valid until 2030, but his transfer will only be completed after a number of conditions are met: Ndukwe must obtain an international permit to play in the UK and reach the age of 18. Until the end of the current season, he will continue his performances with Vienna's "Austria".
According to information from Sky Sport Austria, the transfer fee was approximately 3 million euros.
Ifeanyi Ndukwe was born in Vienna to an international family: his mother is Russian, and his father is Nigerian. At the youth level, the defender represents the Austrian national team, but on his social media, he indicates three countries: Russia, Austria, and Nigeria.
This season, Ndukwe is playing in the second tier of Austrian football, having played seven matches and made one assist. His performance at the U17 World Cup in Qatar, where the Austrian national team reached the final, attracted the attention of Liverpool scouts, despite the team losing to Portugal by a narrow score of 0:1.
Thus, Ndukwe's transfer is seen as a long-term investment by "Liverpool" in a talented defender.
