On January 19, during a meeting of the relevant committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Umbetaly Kydyraliev expressed the opinion that there is a need to review the amounts of state scholarships for athletes.

He noted that the maximum payment is 60,000 soms; however, considering the rise in prices and the level of inflation, this amount is insufficient for athletes who strive for high results on the international stage. Kydyraliev called on the State Agency for Sports, together with the Ministry of Finance and the government, to discuss the possibility of increasing these payments.

The Director of the State Agency for Sports, Kazybek Moldazhiyev, agreed on the necessity of raising scholarships in light of inflationary processes but emphasized that this issue requires careful analysis. He reported on plans to review the amounts of payments, including changes for athletes who have achieved success at the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

In addition, Moldazhiyev noted that the issue of payments for the winners of the Deaflympics had not been raised before, and now the State Agency is working on preparing the corresponding draft law.
