Bivol's Coach Reveals When the Third Fight with Beterbiev Might Take Place

In an interview with Betonmobile, Kirillov clarified that the fight between Bivol and Beterbiev is planned, but it will not take place immediately after the bout with German boxer Michael Aifert, who is the mandatory challenger according to the IBF. This match is scheduled for spring 2026.

“The third fight between Dima and Arthur will take place, but not after the fight with Aifert. Although, anything can happen,” noted Kirillov.

Recall that Dmitry Bivol (24-1) won the title of absolute champion by defeating Arthur Beterbiev (20-1) in February 2025, but soon lost the WBC belt. After that, he underwent back surgery and has not stepped into the ring since. Arthur Beterbiev also has not fought since his defeat and is waiting for the opportunity to complete the trilogy.

Bivol's manager, Vadim Kornilov, stated in an interview with The Ring that Kostya Tszyu commented on the boxer's intention to return to the ring in April. Bivol's next opponent is expected to be Michael Aifert (13-1, 5 KO).

“I’m hearing about this opponent for the first time; it’s hard to say much about him. It’s a relatively insignificant name. For recovery after an injury, it’s a good choice. What to expect next? Let’s not speculate, but perhaps he will step into a big fight: maybe a trilogy with Beterbiev, or maybe a fight with Benavidez,” Tszyu said in an exclusive interview with ‘Sovsport’ correspondent Ivan Permyakov.
