Zalkarbek Tabaldiev won gold at the tournament in Turkey

Athlete from Kyrgyzstan Zalkarbek Tabaldiev won a gold medal at the international wrestling competition in Turkey.

The Yasar Dogu 2026 tournament took place in Antalya and concluded on January 11.

Competing in the 70 kg weight category, Tabaldiev began his journey from the quarter-finals.

The reigning champion of Kyrgyzstan triumphed three times over opponents from Turkey, which allowed him to reach the final. There, he faced Islam Dudaev, the bronze medalist of the Paris Olympic Games, representing Albania.

In the decisive match, Tabaldiev emerged victorious with a score of 7:4, becoming the gold medalist of the tournament.

In the same weight category, his compatriot Rustam Kakharoov took third place and received a bronze medal.
