The organizers noted that about 100 athletes participated in the event. The uniqueness of these sports lies in their extremity, as participants must overcome tracks with various natural obstacles and technical difficulties.
“We held a circuit race. We pre-mark the lines and the track so that participants in each category can follow their route while strictly adhering to the established rules,” shared details one of the organizers, Omurbek Ajibaev.
According to him, this year athletes from Uzbekistan, Batken region, as well as from Osh and Bishkek participated in the competitions.
“We have participants from Uzbekistan, Batken, and both cities — Bishkek and Osh,” he added.
This year, unlike previous ones, in addition to car racing, there were also motorcycle competitions. In the jeep sprint, 40 participants competed, while in the enduro discipline, 70 athletes tested their skills.
The participants of the competitions were divided into categories. In the jeep sprint, four groups were highlighted:
novices;
standard;
sport;
absolute.
The motorsport (enduro) also took place in two categories — for novices and professionals.
These competitions have been held for the fourth time with the aim of popularizing motorsport, attracting tourists, and raising the level of local sports to international standards. Each year, the number of spectators in Osh increases, and this year hundreds of fans came to the competitions.
“Our task is not only to popularize motorsport but also to elevate it to a global level,” said O. Ajibaev.
