In Kyrgyzstan, 'Uchkun' will begin phased release of all denominations of the national currency
The company OJSC "Uchkun" has announced the start of the phased release of banknotes of the national currency of Kyrgyzstan. The plan is to first release banknotes in denominations of 20 soms, followed by 50, 100, and 200 soms. Transitioning to domestic production will allow the country to abandon import orders and reduce costs.

At a press conference, General Director Baktybek Sultanov confirmed that the process of printing banknotes has already begun.

“We have invested in new equipment and will gradually increase the number of denominations produced. Previously, we had to spend significant funds on printing banknotes abroad. Now we will be able to do this ourselves,” he noted.

It is worth noting that OJSC "Uchkun" has already established the production of civilian passports, ID cards, driver's licenses, and other state documents. The release of new banknotes is carried out in accordance with the directive of President Sadyr Japarov, who noted that the republic has received an international certificate confirming compliance with currency standards.

“The presence of the certificate ensures a high level of protection for our products. It is practically impossible to counterfeit such banknotes or documents,” the president emphasized.

According to Baktybek Sultanov, the cost of a plastic ID card is 3 euros, which includes only the price of the card itself. Then "Uchkun" adds its markup, and the services of the company "Kyzmat" and other organizations involved in the production and issuance of cards are taken into account. As a result, the final cost is formed, which is currently set for citizens.
