The Bishkek City Hall denied the information that 400 buses are not operating on the routes.
It is worth noting that at the "Shaarkana" platform in the capital, the initiative "Urban Hub Bishkek" presented its research titled "Analysis of the Public Transport Network in Bishkek." During an open discussion, experts, media representatives, and city residents discussed the functioning of the capital's transport system.
During the meeting, a specific issue regarding the lack of personnel was raised. Discussion participants noted that about 400 buses are not operating due to a shortage of drivers.
However, the press service of the city administration reported that the municipal enterprise "Bishkek City Transport" services approximately 1,300 buses daily. Currently, public transport is functioning as usual, and some buses operate in shifts.
The fleet utilization rate is 85 percent.
At the moment, paperwork is being processed for 95 new buses that were purchased in November 2025. After all necessary procedures are completed, these buses will be put into operation on the routes. This is expected to increase the fleet utilization rate.
