Discussions began after rumors emerged about the financial difficulties of this enterprise, which are linked to the decision of the former mayor Toktorbaev to provide free housing to 22 graduates of the M.S. Shchepkina Higher Theater School and families with triplets.
Shumkarbek Paiziev, the vice-mayor for construction issues, stated that this matter will be brought to the agenda of the upcoming session of the Osh city council for a final decision. “As part of the municipal mortgage program, housing was provided to 22 graduates of the Shchepkina school, their teacher, and 5-6 families with triplets. Currently, the residents have already moved in, but the documents for the apartment have not yet been processed. We plan to bring this issue to the session for consideration, as it was the deputies who approved the regulations for this activity. We will propose amendments and additions to these regulations in order to make a final decision,” he explained.
Regarding the financial situation of the company, Paiziev noted that there is no talk of liquidation. “The municipal mortgage company has two areas of work: shared construction and municipal mortgage. Despite the rumors on social media, there will be no bankruptcy. There may only be a temporary slowdown in the implementation of the mortgage program,” he added.
Turmush previously reported that on July 17, 2025, a ceremony was held in Osh to open a 96-apartment mortgage building, where Mayor Toktorbaev handed over the keys to the apartments to 22 graduates of "Shchepkinka" and the parents of triplets. The question of the legal status of the transfer of this housing remains open.
