As a result of recent events in Osh, the mosaics created in 1987 by talented local artists Ryskul Amanov, Toktogul Kasymov, and Ismail Urmanov were destroyed. This was reported by activist and researcher Ainaizik Toktobolotova in an interview with the editorial team of Kaktus.media.

These mosaic panels, which adorned five walls at the entrance to the city, had been an important part of Osh's visual heritage for many years.
According to Toktobolotova, despite their cultural and historical significance, none of the panels were included in the register of cultural heritage sites. The lack of official status makes them vulnerable, depriving them of protection and the possibility of restoration. This year, a documentary film dedicated to these mosaics was even made. A representative from the city’s culture department attended its presentation, after which the issue of preserving the mosaics was included in the cultural agenda for 2024. However, despite all efforts, the situation remains the same.
