According to a study conducted by E. A. Bayyzbekova and published in the journal "Health Care of Kyrgyzstan," women with tuberculosis in Kyrgyzstan demonstrate higher treatment adherence rates compared to men.

The paper emphasizes that tuberculosis remains a serious public health issue, and adherence to prescribed treatment is critically important for successful recovery.

The study included 401 patients over the age of 18 who were undergoing outpatient treatment. The Morisky-Green test questionnaire was used to determine the level of adherence, and a statistical analysis was conducted.

Main findings:

66.2% of women demonstrated high treatment adherence, while this figure for men was 54.3%;
13.2% of women and 20.3% of men did not follow medical recommendations.

In particular, for men, it is recommended to strengthen information campaigns about the importance of treatment and reduce the stigma associated with the disease.
