The Deputy Minister of Education, Nadira Jusupbekova, noted at a press conference that educational institutions in Kyrgyzstan provide a similar level of education in primary grades, contributing to the development of functional literacy among children.

She emphasized that parents should not rush to choose a specific school for first graders, as children at this age have not yet developed clear interests.

“Having worked in the education sector for many years, I can confidently say: it is not advisable to choose a school right away in primary school. It is important to prioritize the child's safety first. There is no need to make them travel across the entire city. The optimal option is a school located close to home,” said Jusupbekova.

At the same time, she noted that in large cities like Bishkek, there may be a problem with a lack of places in schools based on residence.

“If all classes in your school are full, it is worth considering transferring to a neighboring educational institution. For example, if you missed the registration for your child in the first phase, you can wait for the second phase when there is a choice among all schools in the city. But then the question arises: will there be places left in the school you desire, and will it be convenient to transport your child? Therefore, it is advisable to choose a school closer to home in the first phase,” added the Deputy Minister.

Enrollment for the first grade starts on April 1.
