In the Osh region, in the city of Gulcho, projects for the construction of state-subsidized housing and the development of the manufacturing sector are actively being developed. This was reported by the mayor of the city, Nursultan Tajibaev, in an interview with a Turmush correspondent.

According to Tajibaev, a plot of land measuring 2 hectares and 65 ares was transferred to the municipality's balance in 2025 from law enforcement agencies. Currently, negotiations are underway with the state mortgage company regarding the construction of multi-story complexes on this site. "Preliminary approval for construction has already been obtained. I cannot disclose the exact details of the current stage of negotiations, but the start of construction work is expected this fall. It is planned to build residential buildings up to 7 stories high with a total area of about 500 apartments. These buildings will be located in the Kurmanjan-Datka area," the mayor clarified.

In addition to new housing, a manufacturing project is being launched in Gulcho. Nursultan Tajibaev reported that an agreement on public-private partnership has been signed. According to the terms, private investors will take a 70% share, while the municipality will hold 30%. Within the framework of this project, a plant for the production of asphalt and concrete is planned to be built.

"The agreement has already been signed, and investors have begun to transfer initial funds. We provided 4 hectares of land as our share. Currently, equipment for the plant is being delivered. The total cost of the project is 100 million soms, and the launch of the plant is scheduled before August 31, 2026," Tajibaev added.

Gulcho was officially recognized as the 34th city of Kyrgyzstan, receiving this status on September 25, 2025. Currently, the city has a population of 23,601 people, and its total area is 35 hectares.
