The exhibition 'My Aitmatov' opened in Omsk
The exhibition titled "My Aitmatov" was opened in Omsk. The exhibition was created by the renowned Kyrgyz artist and founder of a private museum of contemporary art, Yuristanbek Shygaev.

Within the framework of the exhibition, 40 works inspired by the creativity of the outstanding writer of Kyrgyzstan, Chinghiz Aitmatov, are presented.

At the opening of the exhibition, Shygaev shared his impressions of Aitmatov's work, noting that he has been familiar with his works since childhood and even had the opportunity to communicate with the writer himself. He admires his talent, calling him a "God." The artist noted that with each new reading of Aitmatov's works, he finds new compositions that he then reflects in his paintings.

“Reading his works always reveals something new. I try to convey the images not literally, but through the prism of my own perception. We were acquainted, and his son became my student. Now he is a well-known artist (Aldar Aitmatov — the younger son of Chinghiz Torekulovich. — Ed. note). Aitmatov once told the French from UNESCO that if he had not become a writer, he would definitely have been an artist. Everything is connected,” said the exhibition's author.

Yuristanbek Shygaev arrived in Omsk as part of a joint project of the Omsk State Pedagogical University and the Kyrgyz State University named after Ishenaly Arabaev, which organized the event "Academic Mobility" for students and teachers.
