Gulshaiyr Abdirasulova. A new letter from Askhat Zhetigen
Askhat Zhetigen also sent a new letter, emphasizing that he does not change his beliefs and does not regret his words, despite being imprisoned. He notes that he endures the trials with fortitude and finds solace in the fact that his creativity continues to inspire the youth. Zhetigen expressed hope for a soon meeting with his family and is confident that his service to the homeland is still ahead.
Recall that in early March, Askhat Zhetigen reported pressure and threats in colony No. 27 after his complaints to the ombudsman about corruption, claiming that he was being unlawfully held in a punishment cell. Later, as reported by lawyer Nurbek Toktakunov, after a visit from the head of the GSIN, the akyn was released from the punishment isolation, and the colony's management was instructed on the necessity of respecting the rights of prisoners.
