This incident occurred on the evening of March 24, 2026, when the dog attacked a private veterinarian and a military serviceman. The next day, March 25, the dangerous animal was captured and destroyed. Laboratory tests confirmed the presence of the rabies virus in the dog.
In connection with this situation, veterinary services and the city administration have begun active measures to combat the disease. Emergency vaccination of domestic livestock against rabies is being conducted in the area where the infected animal was found. The victims of the attack sought medical assistance and are currently undergoing a course of rabies vaccination under medical supervision.
On March 26, urgent meetings dedicated to the epizootic situation are taking place at the Batken mayor's office and in the regional presidential representative's office.
