"People Are Dying." The Mayor of Osh City Spoke Harshly About the Traffic Accident
He noted that among the victims of traffic accidents are utility workers who are performing their duties on the streets of the city.
“It is a tragedy when people die, leaving children without parents. We cannot allow such situations to recur,” the mayor stressed.
Akayev highlighted the critical importance of adhering to traffic rules, especially those concerning speed and attention to pedestrians.
He pointed out that in Osh, drivers often disregard pedestrian crossings and do not yield the right of way, while in other cities this is considered the norm.
The mayor also criticized driving styles, noting the frequent use of horns and a lack of mutual respect among road users.
Akayev urged drivers to show tolerance and attentiveness to one another, to follow the rules, and to respect pedestrians in order to avoid new tragedies on the roads.
