Will the 37-year-old mixed martial arts icon be able to confirm his status, considering that it has been five years since his last fight?
Conor McGregor, the Irish former UFC champion in the featherweight and lightweight divisions, is returning to the ring. He intends to compete at UFC 330, which will take place in Las Vegas on July 11. After numerous scandals, legal battles, and a lengthy suspension due to missed drug tests in September 2024, McGregor is ready to settle questions about his greatness.
The last time the Irishman was in the octagon was in July 2021, when his fight with Dustin Poirier ended with a serious injury—a broken leg. This incident led many to doubt his ability to return to professional fighting. Currently, Conor has 22 victories, but 6 losses and a long break raise concerns.
“The rumors are true! Mr. Confidence is back to save this fight business again! Call your grandmother and tell her: ‘Grandma, we did it!’ Watch and pay me. Damn it, pay me. See you later at the casino. Mc loves you all, I have love for you all. This is easy work. For life and eternity—it's McGregor! Hey, Paramount, see you soon!” McGregor wrote on his blog.
It should be noted that on March 20, the 18-month suspension imposed on him by the Combat Sports Anti-Doping (CSAD) committee in October 2025 expired. This suspension occurred due to three missed drug tests in 2024—on June 13, September 19, and September 20.
It is worth mentioning that the 37-year-old McGregor has not competed in the octagon since July 2021, when he lost to Dustin Poirier by technical knockout due to a leg injury at UFC 264.
