Step into Space. "Kyrgyz Satellite" Created in KR for Resource and Climate Monitoring
The Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic has approved the establishment of an open joint-stock company named "Kyrgyz Satellite."
According to information provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, this state structure will become an important element in the implementation of space technologies for the management of natural resources and the economic development of the country. The project aims to create a national system for obtaining and utilizing aerospace data, which will ensure more accurate and rapid decision-making in areas such as land use, environmental monitoring, climate change analysis, mineral resource exploration, and emergency prevention.
The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic acts as the founder and sole shareholder of the new enterprise. The infrastructure of "Kyrgyz Satellite" will be developed in Karakol, located in the Issyk-Kul region, which will create new opportunities for regional development and the attraction of high technologies.
The establishment of this company represents a step towards forming space competence in Kyrgyzstan and increasing technological independence. In the future, it is expected that the application of satellite data will be expanded in areas such as agriculture, water resource management, and the digitization of government processes.
