The origins of the police in Kyzyl-Kiya date back to the 1940s when the department was first located on the territory of the Rudnik in the village of Kara-Kozu.
Since 1975, the department moved to the building of the dormitory of Lyceum No. 7. In 2002, due to a lack of facilities, the management was transferred to the building of the former trading house of OsOO "Kairat" on A. Sultanov Street (formerly Yubileynaya), where it continues to operate to this day.
In November 2024, the building was transferred from municipal ownership to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. Major renovations began in May 2025, thanks to the support of President Sadyr Japarov and the initiative of the Minister of Internal Affairs, Police Colonel General Ulan Niyazbekov.
The updated three-story building received the following improvements:
- Convenient workplaces were created for employees;
- Modern conference rooms were equipped;
- New hot water supply systems, showers, and modern toilets were installed;
- The duty unit was provided with advanced digital management technologies.
The building was officially commissioned on March 21, 2026.
The Kyzyl-Kiya Department of Internal Affairs includes the Karavan settlement police station, opened in 2013 to serve the settlements of Karavan, Jin-Jigen, and Ak-Bulak.
Currently, a separate land plot of 3 acres has been allocated for this station, where the construction of a new building has begun. The work is expected to be completed, and the facility will be commissioned in the second quarter of 2026.
